International Women’s Federation
CONDUCT & SAFEGUARDING

Participation should be safe, respectful, and accountable.

These standards apply to IWF volunteers, organizers, speakers, partners, chapter leads, and participants in online or in-person activities.

01

Respect and inclusion

Treat participants with dignity. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, sexual misconduct, bullying, retaliation, and deliberate disruption are not accepted in IWF spaces.

02

Professional communication

Use appropriate language and official project channels. Do not pressure participants for private contact information, meetings, favors, money, or opportunities outside the agreed activity.

03

Privacy, images, and recordings

Share only information needed for the activity. Obtain permission before publishing a person's name, image, quotation, work, or recording. A general event announcement does not replace individual consent for a participant feature.

04

Participants under 18

Activities involving minors may require school, parent, guardian, or participant permission. Avoid unsupervised one-to-one interactions between an adult and a minor; use group settings and appropriate organizational channels.

05

Volunteer work and service hours

Hours are recorded only for approved, completed, and documented work. Training or meeting time is counted only when it is part of an approved work package. Each school or institution decides what it will accept.

06

Accurate representation

Do not claim partnerships, legal nonprofit status, chapter approval, attendance, outcomes, or authority that IWF has not confirmed in writing.

07

Reporting concerns

Report a safety, privacy, or conduct concern to iwfglobaloffice@gmail.com with the subject “Conduct concern.” Share the minimum information needed to understand and respond to the issue.

08

Response and enforcement

IWF may pause an activity, limit communication, remove a participant, end a volunteer role, withhold unverified hours, or refer a matter to a school, guardian, platform, or appropriate authority when needed for safety or compliance.

09

Questions

For clarification before an activity, email iwfglobaloffice@gmail.com. Participation may also be subject to the rules of a school, university, venue, platform, or partner organization.
